The Steelers got the W today at Heinz Field, but in listening to the players post game interviews, it was clear they were not satisfied with the win.
From Cam’s post game interview:
I didn’t think our defense finished. Unacceptable and we better learn from our lessons very quick.
We played like crap on defense.. The offense put up way too many points for us. And our special teams did more. To get to where we want to get to, you need to play a lot better on defense. I’m critical of myself. I’m critical of our defense. We have to get better.
They (the Raiders offense) ran it, they threw it. You name it, they did it. We have to get a lot better, quick.
Our offense – thank God we had our offense and our special teams. When you give up a late lead – 14 points – that’s unacceptable [and] inexcusable. And if we’re going to hoot and holler about it, then we’re going to get beat in the same way.
Cam had eight tackles, including one for loss and was considered for Steelers Digest “Player of the Game” honors again this week. The award went to Antonio Brown. He set franchise records with 17 catches for 284 yards, and just to add a cherry on top of that sundae he rushed twice for 22 yards to finish the game with 306 yards from scrimmage.
