From Saint Vincent College: howiplay60

Saint Vincent College is making my daughter famous,” commented Dr. Junlei Li, associate professor of psychology and visiting professor for early learning and children’s media at the Fred Rogers Center at Saint Vincent College, when he started receiving reports that his daughter was spotted on a new billboard sponsored by the United Way and the National Football League.

The board contains a photo of his daughter, Annie, with #97 Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward taken during summer training camp at Saint Vincent with the words “This is #howiplay60.” Heyward is holding a practice dummy that Annie is pushing and containing the words “Play60,” the theme of the United Way’s youth health and wellness campaign that encourages children to be aware of healthy eating and physical activity that are essential to good health.

Across the country, NFL teams and players are working with United Way to increase access to nutritious foods for families and increase opportunities for physical exercise and play.

The billboard is one of 30 different boards featuring photos taken at other training camp sites across the country.

Li said that he recalls someone at the college asking for volunteer children for a photo shoot for the National Football League and United Way. He said that the billboard sighting reported to him was located “on the way to New York” but didn’t specify which highway. “Maybe someday we’ll drive by it ourselves!”

Annie, 10, is a student in the Greater Latrobe School District and the daughter of Junlei and Karen Li of Unity Township.

The campaign is sponsored by United Way in cooperation with the National Football League Players Association and the Ad Council.
